We're Running the Comrades Marathon — 90km for a very important Cause
On June 8th, we’ll be taking on the Comrades Marathon — the world’s oldest and one of the toughest ultramarathons. This iconic 90km race stretches from Pietermaritzburg to Durban, South Africa, and must be completed within a strict 12-hour cut-off.
We’re not just running for the challenge — we’re running for a purpose: to support The Starfish Greathearts Foundation, an organization that transforms the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children in South Africa.
Why Starfish?
The Comrades Marathon celebrates the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity — a message that resonates deeply in South Africa, where millions of children face daily hardships, from limited access to healthcare to a lack of basic education.
If you're reading this, you're already more fortunate than 3.9 million South Africans who cannot read or write. We believe education is the first step in changing that.
Here’s How You Can Help
It costs just ZAR 750 to send a child to school for a month. Your donation today will help provide:
Quality education
Daily nutritious meals
Essential healthcare
Hope for a better future
Our goal is to raise ZAR 100,000 by June 15, enough to sponsor 13 children for the full 10-month school year — children who are currently on a waitlist, hoping for a chance at a better life.
Every contribution makes a difference. Please support our run and help us give these children the future they deserve.
Let’s go the distance — together.
You can make the largest impact by starting your own fundraiser and sharing it with your community.
